Pikey Peak to Everest Base Camp Trek is an adventurous and challenging trek in the Khumbu region of northern Nepal. This trek takes you to Pikey Peak and the base camp of the world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest (8848m). The trek offers a mesmerizing panorama of the Everest Himalayas and the chance to observe the Sherpa culture. Similarly, the biodiversity of the Sagarmatha National Park is simply glorious as well. All in all, the trek explores some of the best vantage points to Witness Mountains like Lhotse (8516m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and Nuptse (7861m) among others.
The Pikey Peak to Everest Base Camp trek starts with a drive to Dhap from Kathmandu. The actual trek starts on the next day as you head to Jhapre Gompa. This day, you get glimpses of the Himalayas in Everest and Nimbur ranges. The next day, you head to Pikey Peak Base Camp from Jhapre Gompa. Further, you climb to the top of Pikey Peak (4065m) and view the panorama of Jugal, Gauri Shankar, and Everest ranges.
Next, you head back to base camp and head to Junbesi. From here, your journey towards the Everest Base Camp starts. Passing Nunthala, you continue with a trek along the Kari Khola to Phakding. En route, you trek past Paiya and the Kari La Pass (3145m). From Phakding, you head to Namche Bazaar and spend one more day to acclimatize. Further, you head to Tengboche Monastery where the trail further takes you to Dingboche. You spend the next day in Dingboche for acclimatization and hike to Nagarjun on that day. Next, you head to Lobuche from Dingboche.
Finally, you trek to the Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep and after exploration, you head back to Gorakshep. Next day, you’ll hike to Kalapatthar for the early sunrise view along with views of Mt. Everest (8848m) and many other Himalayas. Finally, you begin the return trek and head back to Namche and then towards Lukla. Lastly, you take a flight to Ramechhap and then drive to Kathmandu. February-May and September-November are suitable months for this trek as the climate and weather are feasible.
