Lower Dolpo Trek is a remote region trek which takes the travelers to the far-flung area of Nepal. You will encounter true wilderness with pristine water lakes, beautiful alpine topography, and woods. The trek offers local cultures; the local denizens in the area exhibit Tibetan alike culture. You will be trekking in the Shey Phoksundo National Park which is a home for many species of flora and fauna that includes Himalayan musk deer, blue sheep. As per your expectation, you will have spectacular views of the mountains. Also, you can examine your endurance while passing through the high passes in the area: the Baga La Pass (5,070m) and the Numala Pass (5360m).
The trek takes you through the villages which exhibits the ancient cultures and traditions. It exposes to you to the high land that reminds you of Tibetan geography. The other attraction of the trek is Shey Phoksundo National Park which is one of the leading national parks of Nepal. You will feel like you are in a different world as you will be walking among rocks, forest, and mountains. Shey Phoksundo Lake is the other attraction of the region. Exploration of local monasteries gives you Buddhists insight. Moreover, you will not miss observing the different lifestyle of the people of this remote part of the planet.
We have carefully developed this itinerary so that you can explore almost all the hidden treasures of this remote part of Nepal. We provide full board meal during the trek and offer you a decent accommodation. But, you should also spend nights in the tents as tea house accommodation is not available in all the places of the trekking route. Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing tour and trek preparation (1400m)
Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj (150m) - a 45-minute flight
Day 04: Fly to Juphal (Dolpa) and trek to Dunai (2140m) – 30 minutes flight and 2/3 hour trek
Day 05: Trek to Tarakot (2537m) – 5/6 hour
Day 06: Trek to Laini (3370m) – 6/7 hour
Day 07: Trek to Nawarpani (3475m/11) – 5/6 hour
Day 08: Trek to Dho Tarap (3944m) - 7/8 hour
Day 09: Acclimatization day at Dho Tarap (3944m)
Day 10: Trek to Numa La Base Camp (4,440m) - 6/7 hour
Day 11: Cross Numa La (5,238m) and trek to Phelung Tang (4,465m) - 6/7 hour
Day 12: Cross Baga La (5070m) and trek to Dajok Tang (4080m) - 6/7 hour
Day 13: Trek from Dajok Tang to Ringmo (3,600m) – 4/5 hour
Day 14: Exploration day at Ringmo and a hike to Phoksundo (3600m) – 5/6 hour
Day 15: Trek to Shyanta (2520m) – 5/6 hour
Day 16: Trek from Shyanta to Juphal (2475m) – 4/5 hour
Day 17: Fly to Nepalgunj and then to Kathmandu (1400m) 1 hour 45-minutes total flight
Day 18: Departure day (1400m)
