Upon your arrival in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will receive you and transfer to a hotel. After freshen up, you can stroll around the city. Tonight, we will together have dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant with cultural program.
Today, we will guide you to the major tourist destinations in Kathmandu. You will cover Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Durbar Square including other places listed in the UNESCO world heritage site. In the evening, you will stroll around Thamel and prepare for the trek. Overnight at Kathmandu.
You will set off early today to catch your flight to Lukla- a gateway to the Everest region. This short flight offers you fantastic views of emerald hills and mountains before landing at Tenzing- Hillary Airport. You will meet the rest of the climbing team members there. After breakfast, you will hike to Phakding where you stop for the day.
Soon after you resume the trek, you will cross a suspension bridge over Dudhkoshi River. A dusty switchback trail leads you to Monzo- the gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park. After passing a Hillary suspension bridge, you will have the arduous climb to Namche Bazar. Overnight at Namche Bazar.
Namche Bazar holds historical significance for trade and is still the primary destination for business for local people in this region. You will stroll around and acclimatize yourself to the high altitude. You can take a short hike to Synagboche Airport (3700m), visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery. We will stay overnight at Namche.
After breakfast, you will resume the trek on a moderate trail traversing a hill. You may spot Musk Deer and colorful Pheasant on the way. After that, you will take a downhill trail to Dudh Koshi River. Following Lunch, you will have a steep ascend over a rocky path through rhododendron forest to reach today’s destination, Tengboche. You can explore the famous Tengboche Monastery in the evening.
After breakfast, you will have a quick descend to reach Deboche. If you wish, you can detour a local nunnery there. An easy trail leads you to Imja Khola- a local stream. You will gradually leave the tree line behind and will walk on a rocky uphill path. After passing through a few settlements, you will arrive in today’s destination, Dingboche. Overnight at Dingboche.
Today you will stay at Dingboche to acclimatize yourself to the high altitude. You can hike to Nangkartshang or walk to Island Peak base camp. You also have a choice of strolling around the place and enjoy bakery items and hot chocolate at the famous local bakery cafe. Overnight at Dingboche.
You will take the trail leading to Pheriche valley after breakfast. After refreshment at Thukla, you will have an arduous uphill trek to Thukla Pass. Further, you will walk alongside the Khumbu Glacier on a rocky trail to reach Lobuche. You will have jaw-dropping mountain views during today’s trek. Overnight at Lobuche.
Today you will start early walking alongside Khumbhu Glacier crossing moraine leading to Gorakshep. Following Lunch, you will resume your walk towards the Everest Base Camp. After spending sometime at the base camp, you will retrace the trail to Gorakshep to spend the night.
You will start early in the morning on a steep uphill path leading to Kala Patthar. Kala Patthar is one of the best places to view Mount Everest, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Lhotse including others. You will descend and have breakfast at Gorakshep before retracing the path to Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.
After breakfast, you will leave for today’s destination, Lobuche Peak High Camp. You will ascend on a trail traversing a moraine that becomes steeper after a while. On the way, you can witness stunning view of mountains and enjoy unique alpine topography. Then, an arduous path leads you to the Lobuche Peak High Camp. Our guide will teach you basic skills of climbing and using climbing gears.
You will start early in the morning under chilling weather. You will start ascending the rocky and icy trail until you reach the Summit. It is essential to arrive there before noon as heavy afternoon wind makes climbing difficult. You should follow the guide’s instruction during the summit. There might be necessity of using ropes during the climb. From the Summit, you can see the snow-covered mountains including Mount Everest and Ama Dablam. Then, you will return to High Camp for overnight stay.
Weather in the Himalayas cannot be predicted; therefore, we have kept this as a reserve day in case climbing does not go as planned. Also considering the increasing altitude and chilling cold, this day is saved for rest. However, if things go as scheduled, we can skip this day and continue our trek.
Today you will walk downhill to rejoin the classic route to the Everest Base Camp and then trek down to Pheriche. After Lunch, you will continue the downhill walk with the view of mountains and walk through a pasture arriving at Pangboche. You can explore Pangboche Monastery in the evening.
In the morning, you will enjoy the Mountain View from Pangboche and leave for Namche Bazar. You will descend towards Imja Khola- a local stream, and walk to Tengboche for lunch. Then, you will descend passing through rhododendron trees and cross Dudhkoshi River. An uphill trail through juniper forest leads you to a moderate trail leading to Namche Bazar. Overnight at Namche Bazar.
Today, initially you will take a downhill trail leading to Hillary Bridge. After that, a switchback path leads you to Lukla. You will cross few settlements while walking alongside Dudhkoshi River today. You will spend your final night in the Khumbu Region celebrating your success with your teammates.
You will leave for Kathmandu in an early morning flight from Lukla. The guide will support you for boarding process at the airport. You will have bird’s-eye view of hills, mountains, and hilly villages during the flight to Kathmandu. Our representative will escort you to the hotel from there. We will take you out for farewell dinner tonight.
Today is your last day in Nepal for this time. Depending on your flight time, our representative escort you to the Tribhuwan International Airport for your final departure. If you have a late night flight, you can wander around the city today.
